Sunday afternoon, with camera in hand, I went out to inspect the flower gardens. I saw a beautiful rose. Admired it. Walked around it to find the best angle for the lighting. Then captured an image with the camera.
When I opened the image to see it better, I discovered the camera had set focus on the background. Aargh! I considered going back out for a second attempt. That might have worked, but the light was wrong.
Then I started thinking . . . How often do we allow our lives to focus on activities and involvements that should be the background to a life well lived?
I know that at times my life has been “out of focus.” And life, like the river of time, flows on. No going back.
