Good Saturday

Last Saturday was a beautiful day.  It was also the day that Amanda Paulik and Jason Young were married.  The Youngs have been our neighbors since we moved here 14 years ago.  The couple were married on his parents’ front lawn.  What a delightful scene it is.

Sylvia had come home from her dad’s to attend with me.  The skies were cloudy and a nice breeze kept us comfortable (for the most part).  For most of the duration, a sun halo was visible overhead.  That had to be a good omen, right?

Did Pastor Mark drop something or was he praying as the groom kissed his bride?  I’ll let you decide.  I couldn’t tell–and I won’t tell. 😉

The wedding photographer got a better shot of the happy couple.

Jason had better remember July 5 as his wedding day.  I’ll let you decide if there’s any significance to the fact that it immediately follows independence day.

  1. They look very happy, and they are a beautiful couple. You may be on to something about picking a good date to remember your wedding. 😉 My oldest son and his wife were married the day before my birthday. That’s a great way for me to remember their date, and them to remember mine too. :laff:

    • One of my sisters was married on February 29. They have fun with it by saying things like, “This is our third anniversary. We’ve been married 12 years.”

      • One of my sons was born on March 1 at 2 in the morning. A couple of hours sooner and he’d have been born on the 29th, making him 6 1/2 this year instead of 26. 😉

        • He’d still be 26 years old, but he’d only have had 6 birthdays. Except nobody (even you I suspect), would want to fail to celebrate a birthday each year.

Of course if you were serious, then your son is very fortunate indeed. :yea:

  2. Haha- I can never remember my parents A-day. It was either 10 days after Independence day or 10 days before dad’s B-day. Either the 14th or the 12th. Maybe I should blog about that. But I’ve got a big backlog of fun stuff too

    • I don’t remember my parents anniversary either. I know it was in September. Wait . . . It was the 30th. (I had to look it up in my family history records.)

  3. What a beautiful spot to have a wedding! Looks like they got lucky with the weather too. Whew!

Wishing them many years of happiness together!
