I Never Did like It That Much.

I’ve written about my foot problems before.  The problems began when heavy-duty pain sent me to a podiatrist.  After consultation and consideration, he did a bunionectomy on my right foot.

Two years later, I still had heavy-duty pain.  Again we consulted.  I considered that a fused joint will not result in pain.  He did a joint fusion.

The pain did not get better.  More consultation.  This time my podiatrist removed the hardware that held my foot in place after the joint fusion.

While it is still early to make a definitive statement, early indications point to a happy outcome on this long path.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve tried to keep my foot elevated and that is something I can’t do here in the office.

  1. Foot pain is the worst. Let’s hope this does indeed lead to a happy ending!

Here to say hello, and to wish Sylvia a Happy Mother’s Day. 🙂

    • Yes, foot pain is the worst. Like a building with a bad foundation.

Sylvia joins me in wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day.

      • Many thanks to you both. My 2nd oldest is cooking for me, I can’t wait. :food: :cloud9:

        • That’s great! Looks like the two of us will be here alone. I do expect Sylvia to have phone conversations with our sons, however.

  2. I can’t imagine that having all that in your foot would render it “pain free.” I am hoping that removing all that will give you the best outcome. Keeping my fingers…and toes crossed for you!

    Speedy recovery, dear friend!

  3. Hoping and praying that your foot heals up with the pain gone for good……What an awful looking contraption to have had in your foot !!!!!!

    • The “contraption” was necessary while the bones healed. The incision looks very good. Healing should come with time.

  4. That’s a lot of extra stuff to have in your foot. Hope this relieves the pain.

    • Thanks, Vee. I am optimistic about the outcome. For now, healing pain (which is different) dominates. I find that encouraging.

    • It must happen often that patients want their souvenirs. They asked me before I could make the request. Unfortunately, the weight loss doesn’t show up on the bathroom scales.
