My World ~ Blossoms

These are photos that I took yesterday. Blossoms that beautify.

Tomato blossoms. Soon fruit will set and later will grace our table.

Zucchini blossoms most will not grow into those tasty summer squashes.

By the barn, day lillies are in full bloom.

Stella d’Oro day lilies grace the formal garden.

Lavender attracts the bees.

And bees.

And more bees.

  1. Breathtaking blossoms and bees. I like the squash blossoms as much as the squash. Besides if you let them all fruit there's way too many squash.

  2. Lovely images, well done. Beautiful flowers. Our zucchini's are starting to grow too 🙂

  3. Oh, I'm waiting for the tomatoes and the peppers to grow! I have some basil and oregano too. Nothing like fresh brushetta with supplies from the garden. YUM!

  4. What a great garden! And your photos are terrific! Love all the colors! My daughter and son-in-law live near Lake Odessa. They live in Newaygo and his family live in Clarksville. Always a fun visit! Thanks for sharing the beauty!

  5. Lovely! My tomatoes are done … to hot at night now. In fact, most of the veggies are done and I'll start thinking about planting for the fall in august. So nice to visit a garden that is going strong! Loved the lilies.

  6. I too am an avid organic gardener. I have been enjoying the squash, zucchini, peppers, and assorted other veggies as well as flowers from my wildflower garden for several weeks now. Your garden looks very nice. I like seeing pictures of other peoples gardens.

  7. lavender is my favorite. it smells so wonderful! we have tomatoes on the plants but it sure seems like it is taking a long time for them to ripen up. we have harvested some beans, a couple squash, some lettuce, radishes, and the peas are going to get picked today for stir fry tonight. it's awesome to be able to just go out into your yard and get some veggies.

  8. Great garden! My mom always grew one when I was growing up! There is nothing like fresh veggies!

  9. Hmmm… interesting. So female zucchini plants are like a real woman then. LOL

  10. To all, Thanks for your kind words.
Justine, Bee pictures are fuzzy, because my old hands are shaky. Sylvia bought a few Stella d'Oro plants with money from a magazine article that carried her byline. They have multiplied since then. Zucchini blossoms come in male and female. Only the female blossoms become zucchinis. The male blossoms have thin fragile stems. The females are thicker in the middle and they are the ones that produce the tasty fruit.

  11. Aw, why'd your bee pictures come out fuzzy? That is SO not like you! But… your flowers are looking gorgeous. Those Stella D'oro lilies are amazing! Why won't most of the zucchini turn into zucchini?

  12. Nice garden, nice photos.

If you look at my post tomorrow, you'll think I'm copying your idea. But I set it up yesterday to be posted tomorrow. Honest.

  13. Very nice garden. I love the pictures of the lavender and the bees. Watch out for the stingers.
    Have a good day.
