There are many reasons why I began following NASCAR a few years ago. They start the proceedings by presenting the flag of the United States of America. Then there is public prayer, asking God’s protection on the folks present and frequently for our military forces. Someone or group sings our national anthem. Usually there is a military fly over. Then they start their engines upon the command.
You may think of it as driver against driver, and that’s true. However, it is only part of the story. There are spotters, crew chiefs, car chiefs, engineers, mechanics and pit-crew members. If any of those folks fail to do their job, the team will not see their car in victory lane. In the final analysis, NASCAR is a team sport.
We all have our favorites. It’s is particularly pleasant when your team wins.
Your car the fastest,
Your smile has stolen our hearts,
In Victory Lane.
Sometimes, I like to watch like this Chuck. It's a challenging game with all the energy involve. I love it! — but only sometimes.. heheh
I like Nascar myself. Never been to an actual race though. Maybe one of these days my husband and I will get to one.

Justine, That's where the DVR comes in handy. Of course, there's usually something happening or developing somewhere on the tracks or in the pits.
Lin, Indy cars are fun too. I particularly like NASCAR. Or as one old farmer from this neighbor used to say (he's gone now), "Good thing we all have different tastes. Otherwise all you guys would want to marry my wife, and no one would want to marry yours."

I don't watch Nascar, but Joe used to live in Indy for a few years and we got hooked on Indy car racing! Love that still.
Blech… I like the sentiment behind it, but I just can't sit and watch cars go round and round.
