Tulip Time

I’ve been waiting.  And waiting.  Finally the tulips put forth buds.  The buds refused to open.  Day after day I would look to see if they had opened.  They hadn’t.  They were acting like refuseniks.  Promises made, but carry-through delayed.

Finally, they are open.  It was worth the wait.

I love the addition of reds to the yellow and white of daffodils.  Makes things look more cheery.  (Cherry?)

Fortunately, not all the tulips are red.  Some are yellow.

The high temp today could reach into the 80s.  I can stand it.

  1. Tulips are pretty. They’re so fleeting though!! I’m seeing the Magnolia Trees blooming everywhere and they’re my favorite (and have very fleeting blooms too).

I love your red Tulip close up, she’s a beauty!

    • We’ve lost tulip bulbs that way too. These are located close to the driveway at the top of the walk-out garden.

  2. Beautiful. We are not allowed to plant anything in our complex and our association does not do bulb plants either, so we have to enjoy the beautiful things others plant.

    • Thanks, Verla. There are times that I’d be happy to have someone else plan and plant.
