Winter Morning

Winter Morning
Crunch of boot on Snow,
Clearly heard in Morning Air,
Where my breath turns white.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Bruce, Actually it's centered between the two doors. You need to come and visit your sister and me more often. FWIW, I think you're right on for the tree's age. Original owner would have put it there.

  2. The picture is nice but who put the tree dead center in front of the door???? It looks like a 15 to 20 year old tree so I know that you didn't plant it but it was small enough to have been removed when you bought the place. Your just a old softy tree hugger are't you….

  3. Lin, Sorry. We haven't seen Ruth in weeks. Cold is the operative word for today.

Shutterbug, I'm so glad that you noticed the reverse rainbow, which is also called a sun dog. Thanks.

  4. How gorgeous and I see a small hint of color in the sky almost like a rainbow. Your haiku is beautiful and well crafted.

  5. Hey! Is that Ruth????

Gees, it's frosty here today, Chuck. And your photo captures the cold so well. Brrrrrr…..

  6. Hitesh, Yes, we do. Last snow is usually in early April. As you love rain, I love snow, because that's what falls here in winter.

Hearts, I expect the feeling to intensify through February.

  7. aahh….u ppl have snow there…..i love snow…..but i love rains more…cause it's mostly raining here…… 🙂
