Spring is on the way. Sunday, I saw a red-winged blackbird perched on a cattail. That’s a sure sign of spring. Later in the afternoon, I saw a boat tailed grackle. Yesterday, I saw a blue bird. A few years back, we had a couple of blue birds winter over here in this neighborhood.
The signs are not only to be seen in the fauna. The flora are showing through with sprouts beginning to poke through the ground. Yellow crocus can be seen beside the house.
Above average temperatures are predicted for for the next week plus. Add to that a lot of rainy days and it becomes obvious that mud will rule the days ahead.
You may love spring, I am ambivalent. Spring is nice, but mud season is not!
I can remember before we moved to this country paradise. In those days, I could wash my car and expect it to look good for days. But that is only a memory . . .
Would I go back? No, I don’t think so.
I’ve lived in the city and I’ve lived in the country. I’ll take the country.
Wow- we just had a flock of robins move in yesterday. The starlings are messing up the deck, but it's getting spring-ish, even here.
We still have a good amount of snow cover, but hopefully the expected rise in temps will melt most of it. I seriously doubt we'll get any more major snow this season. *Lord, please let is be so!*
I agree about spring. It's OK, but I call it "mud season," too. Still, the change is so nice.
Yay, here come the birds!!! 😀
Our yellow crocuses are up, too. I love spring! That's be cause I have a sidewalk and a paved driveway. But even when I didn't have the paved driveway I loved spring. Everything coming to life is just so amazing.
Oh, another bird I miss. We don't have them here.
Beautiful bird, great photo. Mud notwithstanding, Spring is still much to be welcomed. True, though, I don't live on the secondary road!
That's my FAVORITE bird!! It was still dark as Hobbes went out this morning–he didn't care though, the birds were singing. It's nice to hear the robins welcoming the day again. They just seem to know that it is getting warmer….
