A Very Quiet Morning

At midday, I have an appointment with the podiatrist, Dr Dave.  He’ll be removing the stitches from my bunionectomy.  I’m looking forward to that.  I’ve noticed healing progress each day since the surgery was performed last Wednesday.

I’m awake far too early this morning, but I’m also tired of sleeping in the recliner.  For that reason, I’m here in the office doing a short blog post for today.  Perhaps I can return for a bit more sleep before Sylvia is ready for breakfast.

Nellie

A couple of you have inquired about Nellie.  Short answers are: “She is still shy, but coming out of it . . . slowly . . . very slowly.”  And: “Yes, she will be a lap cat.”

Nellie is bonding well with Sylvia.  You can see this in the photo.

Nellie shares the recliner with Sylvia.

The two of them are doing quite well, and that pleases me.  Soon I’ll be more involved as a care provider for Kitty.  That should help.

Ah . . . life is good!

I’m ready to try sleep again.  Perhaps it will come this time?

  1. Awwwww…..Nellie and Sylvia look so sweet together! I’m glad to hear you are doing good and the stitches are coming out! Yay! :yea:

    • They do look sweet together at that. I have to wait another week for the stitches to come out. Ice is helping the pain pills do their job of keeping things bearable. 🙄

  2. She does look a little wary, but not turning down that petting being offered. Sorry you don’t get stitches out yet. Do they itch? A quiet day here. I’m trying to write.

    • Nellie has taken well to Sylvia. And I fell good about that.

Fortunately, the stitches don’t itch. At least they’re not bad if they do. Everything still hurts a lot, but the pain pills keep it at a bearable level.

Good luck on your writing. I hope you make significant progress today.

  3. Aw, she’s coming around for sure, hurrah! :cheer:

Hurrah too for the stitches coming out today. You’re probably getting antsy and want to move around but don’t do too much too fast, you want to heal up right (and there’s my unsolicited two cents for the day).

    Happy Tuesday.

    • Stitches didn’t come out today. They did a post op check, changed the dressing and took [x-ray] pictures of the foot. Stitches out next week.

Happy Tuesday to you too. :frolic:

  4. Awwww, look at your gals hangin’ out together! 🙂 Very sweet. It’s nice that she is a lap kitty.

It will feel good to get that dressing off and the stitches out. Okay, so they will probably put more dressing on…it just feels good to have it changed and feel like progress is being made. How are the crutches coming along?

    • It sure is sweet! Those gals sit like that and Sylvia starts rubbing and Nellie starts purring. I think Nellie is using a recycled NASCAR engine for her purring machine, ’cause it sure is loud. Love it!

It will be nice be rid of the stitches and to have a fresh dressing on the wound. I’m hoping it will also relieve some pressure that I’ve been feeling on that foot.

I’m doing well with the crutches. :beam: They help keep pressure off the bad foot. Most of the time, I just use one crutch. That way I can transport a glass of water or something in my left hand.
