After the Shepherds

Shepherds visit the new-born Baby

Shepherds visit the new-born Baby

At His birth, shepherds who had been informed by angels, came to visit the babe.  Later, Magi from the east came to visit the young child.  (See Luke and Matthew)

After breakfast on Christmas morning, I changed the reenactment scene.  This scene will remain until the evening of January 6, the twelfth day of Christmas (aka Epiphany).

If you are interested in the star and the timeline of Christ’s birth, visit bethlehemstar.net or search YouTube for “Frederick Larson Bethlehem.”

Yesterday, we celebrated Christmas with Briana and her parents, Barbara and Bryant.  We had a wonderful time with them.  Lots of talk about Briana’s upcoming move to Wisconsin.  We are all very happy for her and the way that details are falling into place to make everything go smoothly.

Tonight, Sylvia and I will attend the wedding of our friends, Frank and Missy.  We are very excited and happy for them.

Tomorrow, Sylvia’s family gathers for their traditional Christmas dinner and celebration.  We always look forward to that.

  1. I like that you have two poses of Mary for the scenes. I get so annoyed when people say the star was in the east (and in the songs). They say the star from the East. It had to be in the west. Duh.

  2. I’m happy to hear you had a nice holiday. We did too…still visiting family. Just popped over to wish you a happy start to the new year. 🙂

  3. Wow…Baby Jesus grew up fast! 😉 I like how your nativity scene progresses. We are off to see the creche display at the art museum that Emma works at.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas–spent with family and friends. I like to spread out the visits with everyone–makes the holiday feeling last a lot longer. I am still in holiday mode even though Joe and I have to work a few days this week.

How exciting for Briana! I wish her much success and happiness!

    • Luke tells us of angels visiting shepherds, who then came to see the new-born baby Jesus. Matthew relates the magi’s tale and he refers to the Christ child as a “toddler.” The thoughts and concepts are the Biblical account and not from my own mind.

I hope you do a blog post on your visit to the art museum. I’d like to see that.

I think I’ve ODed on family and friends. However, I did enjoy it and one sleepless night seems to be the worst “hangover” of the past week.
