Flashback Friday is hosted by Camille. (Click on the badge to visit her blog, which is the home of Flashback Friday.) I was introduced to this delightful meme and blog hop by Rosey. Why don’t you consider joining in the fun?
I was very distracted last week and failed to participate. Sorry about that Camille and Rosey. I’m going to try to do better, because this is a very fun meme.
We’ve got company coming this weekend. Our son, Scott, is going to spend a week or so with us. Sylvia and I are looking forward to being with him.
As 1973 began, Scott was enrolled in Kinder in San José, Costa Rica. That fall he started Kindergarten in Quito, Ecuador, and his mother was his teacher. (That was quite a challenge, but that’s a story for another day. 🙄 )
Speaking of education, Scott, attended classes in three different schools in Michigan after we returned from Ecuador. Later, when we moved to Connecticut, he finished middle school in the town where we lived and after that High School in an adjacent town. While in Mississippi with the USAF, he earned a couple of degrees.
I think he takes more pleasure in the various martial arts black belts that he has been awarded. An activity that he continues to be very active in as an instructor.
A little cutie for sure. Martial arts, eh? Sounds different from most in your family.
The summer before he entered 8th grade, we moved to Connecticut. He found a friend there who was interested in martial arts, and the two of them really got into it during those days and through high school. Later in the USAF, he requested and was assigned to an area that had an excellent martial arts community.
He is the only one in our family that is into that.
Flashback Friday sounds fun. I’m not sure I could do anything like that though because my mind is so full of holes. I do things like this by looking back at old blog posts of mine.
I had hoped that the effects from that accident would have faded over time. I’m sorry to hear that you are still experiencing the “holes.”
This IS a fun meme and I forgot about it until I came here to visit!!! My kids are out of school now so I blog around them doing things, or what have you. My first summer doing it. It’s going to be interesting to find the balance. I’m glad they’re home all day though, I love when they’re around.
The picture is cute, look at him! And someone was smart to give him a child-sized portion. 😉 It’s neat that he’s an instructor now of something he enjoyed as a child!!
Happy visiting!
His mother is the smart one. 🙂
Enjoy the visit!
Thanks. I’m looking forward to it.
