I discovered this meme through Rosey. It looks like fun, and I’m going to give it a try.
The following pic was taken at the home of my paternal grandparents in 1942. Grandpa always had a dog. I really don’t remember this one.
This was 1942 and the photo was taken in Ingham County, Michigan north of the [then] Village of Leslie. At that time, my parents and I lived in Lansing, just a few blocks from the capital building.
The next year, my sister Barbara was born and in November Dad went into the Army Air Corp. An eye infection took him out of the training program long enough that he never did see action. He returned home in time for Thanksgiving of 1945.
These Days
The C-T and bone scans are now scheduled for next Tuesday. I should know the results by the end of the week.
Have to love that pic! Bone scan? Did I miss something?
Evidently. Details follow in an e-mail message.
These photos are indeed treasure. I don’t have a lot of pictures when i was a kid, that’s why i’m taking all kinds of pictures of my kids that way they can see it as they grow up.
That’s a wonderful plan. You’ll always be glad that you did capture those images of your children. They will treasure them later in life as it opens up their past to them. 8)
Aw, such a cute little Chuck. 🙂
Good luck with your tests this week. I will be thinking of you and sending prayers. I hope you can just relax this weekend and rest your brain a bit. I’m sure you are doing a lot of thinking. Don’t, if you can help it. ((hugs))
Thanks Lin. I appreciate your concern and the support that you extend my way. I’ll have no problems enjoying this weekend. I’m not doing a lot of that kind of thinking. There is no way that can help. I do of course pray that the cancer has not spread. We should know soon.
((hugs)) to you too. 8)
That;s a really cute photo! I also had a dog when I was little.
Thanks. Dogs and children were made for each other. 8)
what a treasure to find a picture like this and share it with us is just great! Love to see things like this–next to babies pictures of kids and dogs make me smile 🙂 have a great long weekend
There is magic in those pix. Hope your extended weekend is a great one. Thanks for the visit and the comment. 8)
I love those types of dog pictures – the kind that are just so natural. I love the ear also. And dogs just seem to display more personality and character at any given moment than humans.
There is something special between dogs and kids. That ear seems to animate the personality of that dog. 8)
I love your picture … you were a very handsome young man with a very cute dog – even though you don’t remember him 🙂 Bet you would like to have that wagon back too. :ha:
Thanks Kat. These days, a two-wheeled garden cart would be more useful than a wagon. 8)
What a great idea! I love looking at old pics! They are so much more magical when in black and white!
I enjoy looking at them too. In the 35mm era, I still shot a lot of pix in black and white. I did that mostly so that I could do my own processing. 8)
The dog’s ear sticking up on the side closest to you cracks me up. It’s like the dog version of keeping an eye on you!
Me too. The dog could have been in a cartoon strip. Dogs version. Right! The ears have it. 8)
Hi Chuck,
Your kind friend Rosie directed me here and I am happy to now follow along. Fantastic photo, I love the old radio flyer. Wishing you all the best.
Monica, Rosie is a very special gal. Through her, I found this meme and I think I’m going to enjoy it–a lot. 8)
What an awesome picture! I love finding old pictures like these! And that dog is BIG!
Thanks! The old pix are fun. 8)
What a sweet photo!!! I really love the old black and white fuzzy photo look. I wish photos were still taken that way today. Thank you for sharing your memory with us!
Thanks for the visit and the comment. I find magic in those old photos too. 8)
The dog sits taller than you! LOL! Love this picture, and thanks for the shout-out. 🙂
Shoot me an e-mail when you get a chance wouldya? I have some maybe helpful news on something you blogged about once.
Yes he does sit taller, but (in dog years) he was older. 😉
Don’t you like the way that one ear is lifted? I do.
E-mail follows.
