I’m feeling a little bit sad this morning. Our friend, Vanilla, went back to the ICU yesterday. We continue to pray for him and his lovely wife as he recovers from his recent surgery. Also Sharkey will wrap her visit and head back home after lunch.
We’ve had a lot of fun, laughs and serious discussion. Last night was our big music fest. Sharkey with her accordion and Sylvia with her guitar.
I don’t think you’ll find any of our music on a top-40 list from recent decades. That doesn’t matter. We love it and that’s good enough reason to play and enjoy it.
Looks like the rain forecast for this afternoon will come to pass.
Music is so healing. I belong to a group here at Snowberry Heights that enjoys card games, communicating thoughts from the past & future plans, the simple things we do & enjoy. So often a word will spark a tune from days gone by & all will join in (out of tune usually lol) with whatever version we remember of the said song (our memories are not always the correct version) never the less we fill each others hearts with joy and laughter. Can’t think of a better way of sharing moments with friends & family. Top 10? Wouldn’t have a clue what they are, really doesn’t matter.
Dear cousin, We are definitely family! It’s great that you have a group like that.
It’s nice to see the accordian being played. My father-in-law used to break one out at every family gathering. 🙂
Warm thoughts for your friend, Vanilla.
We enjoyed listing to Sharkey play her accordion. She also played on my father-in-law’s squeeze box. A week before he died (at 98), he played his accordion while Sylvia came in on guitar.
Haven’t seen the latest update on Vanilla, but he’s now been released from the hospital in Indianapolis and will be moving into a rehab facility in his home town. It should much easier, and less stressful for his wife.
We had SUCH a good time. Love singing so many of the old hymns. Next time… larger print and chords. I should be able to get some done in that format. And Sylvia is awesome on guitar…to play the melody right along instead of just chords. Very cool.
It was fun . . . and very satisfying to sing hymns. Sylvia does okay. I hope she tries to keep up with it. She is doing better, but the broken wrist last April 1 was a major setback.
Aw, shoot. Didn’t know David was headed back to ICU.
I am soooo sorry I missed the jam session.
It didn’t last long. Vanilla has been released to Rehab.
You’d have loved the jam session. We were thinking of you.
And the warmth resulting from this get together will live in their hearts for ever more.
I am confident of that.
