Let There Be Weather

Luke 17:26

The rain continues.  More is forecast.  People have stopped making duck jokes, they now make Noah jokes.  Only last night, a youngster was overheard asking, “Mama has it rained for forty days and forty nights yet?”  Her reply?  “Not yet son.  Now please pass me that pitch.  I need to seal the bottom of this basket for your baby brother.”

Ridiculous.  Yes, I know it is.  Like that helpful online hint I saw last week.  The author asked, “Want to know what time the power went out?  Just look at the clock.”

Really?  All the clocks in this house are digital.  No power . . . no display.  Some days, that describes me perfectly.

  1. Oh, it was interesting around here yesterday. I got to work with only one obstacle–a traffic light out at the most congested portion of my commute–but I survived and re-routed. This is the sort of weather that I am glad that we do not have a basement. 🙂

Patty made me a frog necklace this year–I wore it to work yesterday to the delight of my co-workers. If you can’t wear a frog necklace in all that rain…when can you wear it?

    • We cancelled a trip into Grand Rapids because of the flooding and the heavy rains that were forecast. We probably would have been okay, but I’d rather err on the side of caution.

Wow! A frog necklace. :yea: As one of the girls from high school used to say, “If you’ve got it. Flaunt it.”

  2. There is weather here today! “No power” describes me perfectly, but I’m thankful the house power is still on.

    • Or as my dad was wont to say, “There will be weather whether or not.”

We do depend on the power company, don’t we?

  3. It’s not raining here today (it was last night). We do, however, have a beautiful breeze that’s not too cold for open windows going on. :cheer:

    • We have had a break in the rain this morning, but to the west I see big black clouds moving this way. Rain and T’storms to follow. :banghead:

      • It started raining after school yesterday, so we did what any family does w/a nice rain, we went to the lake (not in the lake, just to it) and ran around in it. :yea:

        No thunder/lighting.

Today it’s cold again though. :beam:
