More About Lily

On Saturday, after 48 hours of hiding, Lily came out to socialize with us.  We were happy that she was no longer avoiding contact.

Sunday afternoon, I coaxed her to come upstairs.  A few times before she had come to the top of the stairs, taken a look around and hustled back to her basement.  This time she came would take a few steps and stop.  I’d be a little ahead of her and would reach out and she’d walk on up to me to get her skritches.  She loves those! :awe:

She checked out the guest room and the office.  That was enough.  She went back downstairs.  I left the door open and went into the family room to watch a movie with Sylvia.  A while later we heard the now familiar “Meow.”  The explorer was venturing forth once more.

Lily stood in the shadow and peeked into the family room.

Sylvia and I spoke to her.  Eventually Lily ventured into the room.

“Hi y’all, whazzup?”

Little by little Lily is feeling more comfortable in her new home.  Thus far, she is well behaved.

I’m sorry about the picture quality.  It’s the best I can do with my shaky old hands.  I’ll have more Lily pics for you tomorrow on Wordless Wednesday.

  1. Hooray! I’m glad that it is going well! Now…to fatten that chickie up. We know all about that here if you need help. 😉

Is Lily a name the shelter gave her? Or was that what she answered to at her old home? If is it a shelter name, you can change it if you so wish–she may not identify with that name. Not that you need to—-it’s just something I wondered about.

Hobbes was known as “Kieren” or something Irish like that. He’s no Kieren. We changed it. He grew into his name. 😉

Good luck tomorrow! I will be thinking of you.

  2. Yes, the inspection tour; the nodding approval. You may just as well sign over the title; she’s buying it.

    Blessings and well-wishes.

  3. It appears that Miss Kitty is beginning to approve of her new space and the people who will will be spoiling her.

Wishing you well during your “Wordless Wednesday” surgery! This will no doubt extended WW from the blog to the home.

    Prayers!

    • Lily is doing well and we are building a relationship. It’s interesting and sometimes fun. My cats have taught me humility and patience, and those are good things. 8)

Thanks for the well wishes. They are much appreciated. I’ll file a WW post later today and set it for 4 AM publication.

  4. Oh she is cute! And she’s well on her way to forgetting all about the house w/too many cats and the shelter too. Look at her go! Totally laughing at the ‘whazzup’ face. :ha:
