10/8/2009– Hi, I’m Chuck’s sister Clara. He called me this afternoon with some really bad news. He has no internet! That would drive me crazy, how about you? He’s connected to a wireless network that has its main tower on top of the local grain elevator.
According to WWMT.com Newschannel 3 here’s what happened:
In Ionia County, two men are in the hospital after a strange accident Thursday morning.Fire officials say that about a dozen men were working on a grain elevator. The men were attaching a new down-spout when the new welding gave way around 9:30 Thursday morning. One man fell 130 feet and was taken by emergency helicopter to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He’s in critical condition. Another man fell about 30 feet and is listed in serious condition. The fire chief says there were at least ten people below the equipment when the collapse occurred, but no one else was hurt.
Chuck will have more details for you when he gets his connection back. At this time he has no idea when that will be. He asked that I give you his apologies for not being able to return your drops, approve your comments or visit your blogs.
Will say a prayer for those men. Hope you are back soon, Chuck
I'm sorry to hear that tragedy. Hope everything will be fine. Please extend my regards to Chuck and his family. God bless!!
Oh Clara, what a horrible accident! I'm sorry Chuck is out of internet connection, but especially because of what caused it 😮 (
Justine 😮 )
Bummer,I hope that the men will be OK.
First no heat for three days and now no internet in Moo Town. I was all, "These are the times that try men's souls". But my tivial problems have been put in perspective knowing that someone was hurt in the accident. I pray both men have a full and speedy recovery
We may actually have to walk next door to visit with Chuck and Sylvia!
