Proverbs for Father’s Day

King Solomon

10:7a The memory of the righteous will be a blessing.

20:7 The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

23:22 Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

23 Buy the truth and do not sell it;
get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

24 The father of a righteous man has great joy;
he who has a wise son delights in him.

On this Father’s Day, I am thankful for my father. I’m even more thankful for my two sons, Bryant and Scott.

Scott, Bryant and their most wonderful mother, Sylvia — 1972

I love you all.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. (giggle) Man! That was ONE spiffed up picture of perfection! Look at those boys–their bangs perfectly straight, shirts all ironed and tucked in, and Sylvia doesn't have a hair out of place!! Wow! It's all Father Knows Best revisited.

    Happy Father's Day, Chuck! You are a great husband, dad, and grandfather! Enjoy your day.

  2. Ho, ho… Sylvia let you post that with those glasses!? Great stuff. Whatever happened to the decades? I just read Erma Bombeck's "A Marriage Made in Heaven or Too Tired for an Affair" – a funny overview of how their marriage made it through 43 years (as of when the book was written) so topics like this are on my mind. Happy Dad's day.
