In, what appears to be thoughts of warmer days, our friend, Shark, posted a photo of a grasshopper and acknowledged the inspiration for it came from the Vanilla man. I’d like to think of warmer times as we are caught in the cold grasp of winter’s icy wrath.
Like my memories of warmer weather, this poor fellow is flawed. He’s not a very good hopper. Reminds me a bit of the blue jay of which Shark recently posted photos.
I think I’d rather see this:
Yes, I’m ready for this–but not in February. Not even in March. Let spring arrive in its proper season. Then we can see scenes like this one.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
(Eccl 3:1 – KJV)
Even as this cruel winter persists, life goes on. I see this in the myriad bunny tracks that surround me. Last week, I’m quite sure that I saw the golden eagle soaring through this neighborhood. What a beautiful sight to see as that mighty bird navigated through chill and heavy winds.
I’m sorta done. Done with winter. Done with gloominess. Done with work and it’s goofy people posturing for no reason….done. done…done.
I would like to crawl under the covers and wake up when Spring is here.
You’re probably thinking of that “Dear John” letter we’ve been seeing on FB. As I recall it says something like, “Dear Winter, We are through. I love other seasons better. Besides, summer is hotter than you are.”
I understand the under the covers sentiment, but I can’t even spend an entire night in bed. The last few hours get spent in the recliner.
As the old farmer is said to have said, “If you can’t stand the winters, you don’t deserve the summers.”
We’ve got deer tracks in our yard nightly and I saw a little bird looking for food in our bushes so I put bird seed in the feeder. Today we’ve got a ton of birds out there eating. No idea how they live out there and look so happy. It’s way too cold for me!! 🙂
We had lots of deer last year. This year, not so much.
Perhaps if we had feathers that we could “fluff” up, we’d find it easier to live outdoors. I’ll stay inside and keep warm.
Welcome! I see you have joined the Order of the Grasshopper. I believe The Preacher’s observation, though I don’t always understand the purpose or the timing.
G
Yes, I have and thanks for extending the hand of fellowship and welcome. :tiphat:
I think the Preacher had to write that chapter because we don’t always understand the purpose or the timing. :dontknow:
