Today is the day. I’ll take a couple of Tylenol, fuel up the beast, fire it up and mow about 6 acres. It’s a lot easier with help from John.
John has a 24 hp diesel engine and a mower with a 5-ft cut. I’ll take one or two breaks and enjoy myself. It is good to be outdoors and to feel the sun and the breeze.
Earlier this year, I noticed I was tiring more easily than in past years. I suspected it might be too much sun. So the tee shirt gave way to a long-sleeve shirt, and that made a big difference. I feel a bit warmer, but the lower fatigue factor makes it worth a tiny bit more warmth. And my old muscles don’t mind the warmth at all–the same is not true for the cold.
I enjoy having a few hours to look at my beautiful bucolic surroundings and think of all the wonders that I see. People spend serious money to go places and see things that are no more wonderful than what I gaze upon from our 11 country acres. Life is good!
.
You mow, man!
You need some goats!
At least you have a nice "work horse" and don't have to push mow all of that!! LOL!!
Oh it does sound wonderful, especially since you have John. But SIX acres! Oh my word!
We have almost 2, and can you believe that for years we mowed it with a push-mower? :-p It took 6 hours to do it all.
I prefer perennial beds or forested areas. Lawn reminds me of golf, lol.
Your property sounds so beautiful. Enjoy your day!
I agree with both of you. Nature is a splendor. As for the grass. It is going to get harder and harder all the time. My father in Law has someone do his. He only has about three acres. I can see it bothers him, but that is a part of growing older. Life goes on and then we pass.
I agree! all the beauty and wonder of nature is right in front of you. when I go on my walks I am in awe of all the varieties and species of plants, trees, animals, insects, etc. LIFE IS GOOD!!
