About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

    • Handsome he is. Interesting that his kind have inspired military equipment designers to come up with exoskeleton gear to protect our troops.

  1. That is a cat snack. Yuck. It also has 6 legs. The publicist does not like things with more than 4 legs unless it is a praying mantis. She likes them – and it has nothing to do with the female eating the male’s head.

    • Yes, it is a dandy kitty snack. :food: I’ll give him a pass, however. But look again . . . This guy only has 5 legs. I’m sure that’s the only reason that I was able to capture that image.

I’ll take your word on the praying mantis. But only because you say so.

  2. Hi Chuck I doubt you will remember me but I use to publish under the name Shinade and my blog was The Painted Veil. I am back after a year or so with a new blog Expression Needed. I am making the rounds from my Google Reader to grab my old favorite blogs and who could forget Secondary Roads? Not me.

I love your capture and I didn’t realize he was missing a leg until I read comments. One leg or two it’s still wonderful to see him so close up!!
    Happy day,
    Jackie 🙂

    • Of course I remember you Jackie. Thanks so much for looking me up. FWIW, I just nipped over to visit your new blog. Very nice, but sorry to read about your family’s loss.

    • Aha! You got it Lin.

I’m sure that’s the only reason I was able to capture that close-up of this guy. Otherwise, he would have hopped away. :beam:

Give yourself a pat on the back for me, if you would please. :m4:

    • That green and black is very nice. 😀 I was surprised that I was able to get that shot. When I studied the image, I found a reason. :zip:
