Our friend, Vanilla, started it when he posted a satellite pic of his neighborhood. That was interesting and I made a mental note to do a similar post.
I don’t know how you handle mental notes to yourself, but I will surely misfile or forget most every attempt. An hour later will likely find me several layers deep in distractions.
On Saturday, Sharkey did a similar post. Before it escapes me again, I’m going to try to follow in the footsteps of these friends.
Dirt roads form the North and West boundaries of our homestead. The house and garage have red steel roofs. Beacon Bay Farm and Kennel (home to Meghan and Kurt) is in the upper right. The farm in the lower left is home to Bob and Rosemary. (Bob raises beef cattle and makes hay from what used to be our lower lawn.) Hubert and Joyce live at the bottom center. He raises a few chickens these days.
These are some of the best neighbors we have ever had. That is wonderful!
Having to travel dirt roads means we despair of ever having clean cars for more than a few hours. That’s not so great, but it also means we don’t have a lot of traffic zipping by our country home.
The forecasters tell us to expect hot weather this week. The lawn has turned from lush green and is beginning to brown. You’d think it was summer . . . Oh! Yes. It is summer.
No pressure to look up my own property then, right? criminy. Oh, what you goofs get me to do! Stay tuned….
Staying tuned . . . 8)
So we’re goofs? Okay. I can live with that. 🙄
That’s a good term, Chuck. Saved only for those who make me laugh and get me to do silly things with them.
I didn’t take it any other way. Isn’t it fun to be silly? Helps relieve tension and shed years.
It’s def. summer! My daughter pulled up something similar yesterday (I think on Google Maps?) and zoomed in to see her friend’s dad out at his car, crystal clear. Eeshoy, it’s cool, but a little spooky too to be able to find any house like that in a photo online.
I remember there was quite a flap over Street View photos that caught individuals in situations that they did not want available for public viewing. As you say, it is cool, however. 😯
Nice! I’ve gotten a mental picture of your world already, but it’s nice to see the real overview. THe topography doesn’t show in these, though.
Street View might show that, but it [thankfully] doesn’t cover this stretch of road. :yea:
What Angel said.
You have buzzards?
Grass browning here now. How quickly that happens!
Enjoyed your visit too! A lot. 😀
Yes, we have buzzards. They are a common sight in our warm weather skies.
I ran those dirt roads about a year ago. I loved the air that I breathed and the peace that I enjoyed. Thanks for your gracious hospitality!
In the mile north of us there is a pile of turkey droppings that’s the size of a small house. Roll up the windows and drive fast as you pass it. 😐
We enjoyed your visit — a lot! 😀
