About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Hi I am Nicole from ColiesKitchen.com I found you through a blog hop and wanted to drop by and say hi. I really like your blog, and am now a new follower. I would love to have you stop by Colie’s Kitchen if you get a chance.

  2. I think the husker and de-silker are two different people, who both enjoyed the spoils. Yum, yum.

  3. for Rebecca

"Reedies" is a real proper noun, collectively encompassing students and alumni of Reed College, of which I am one.

the captcha here is "koalla" which is just a misspelling of a marsupial from the southern hemisphere.

  4. You use a tarp to husk over!!! Brilliant!!!

Look at that handsome helper with the sleek black coat! What a cutie!

Can't believe corn season is over. I entirely missed summer this year…

Captcha word is "reedies." LOL, how fitting for a post about corn. I think Blogger likes you, Chuck.

  5. Ah yes, I put close to 300 ears (shucked) in the freezer this year.

I am thinking that the stuff Lin tried is a waste of good corn.

  6. Sweet corn season is very short, and it is a sad time when it comes to an end, except for all the packages you put in your freezer for next February!

  7. Yeah, who's the helper???!

Can it really be the end of corn season already? I tried "alote" yesterday as Irene (at work) is always telling me how good that is. Have you had it? It is corn with butter, Mayo, cheese, and chile pepper on it. YUM! TONS of calories, but YUM!
