A Lawn Visitor

Doe a Deer

In early morning,
She came to feed on damp grass,
Then I caught her eye.

Don’t forget our friend, Crotchety, as he is scheduled for surgery today. Join me and say a prayer for him if you will.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Oh I do wish we didn't have such a problem here with mountain lions and bobcats.

When we first moved here there were always deer tracks in our yard. But, that didn't last for very long.

We haven't seen any tracks in years. But, we do find big cat tracks on a weekly basis.

They were reintroduced to our area about 10 years ago and are protected by law.

But, now they have over populated and have become quite dangerous.

As I have mentioned here before even the bobcats are very large.

I won;t say how we know but last summer one was gotten just as he was getting ready to once again raid some fowl.

Chuck this bobcat was a good 40 to 50 lbs. in weight. Walter was shocked.

He is a country boy and very familiar with all things in the wild.

He simply couldn't believe the size of this cat.

The mountain lions are all very fat and very large! The cattle men are losing baby calves like mad and we have lost approximately $300 worth of ducks and geese just this summer.

I do respect and treasure all of God's creatures. But, I also know that God makes it very clear that we are their masters.

We as a neighborhood have tried and tried now for years to get the government to come in, trap and relocate.

But, they still keep insisting that there are no problems! So we are at a loss. We pray continually that no young children will be attacked!

As for Joe I am headed over. Also Chuck thank you so much for your kind words and your support!!

At this time my SIL is hanging on, Walter arrived home last night and we are going to be headed out this Thursday to visit her.

We are the last to go and she keeps asking for us. Walter fears that once we arrive and she completes her good byes she will let go.

It is a very difficult time!! Everyone's prayers have been greatly appreciated!!

I hope you have a terrific evening!!
    Jackie
