Midnight Monday ~ Thursday Evening

Thursday evenings are usually a quiet time. Sylvia and I usually spend a couple of hours sitting in our easy chairs talking, reading or watching TV. Count on it — Midnight will be there with us. Sometimes he likes to play, and others he’s content to curl up next to Sylvia and rest. Last Thursday was a bit different thanks to Midnight. Let met tell you the story from his point of view.

“Hey lady, mind if I have a drink of water?” (The answer was, “Yes, I do mind.” That blur on the right is Sylvia reaching to rescue her water.)

“Okay. Let me adjust these blinds for you.”

“Here I go. A piece of cake.”

“Hey, having a little bit of trouble here. Sure wish I had thumbs like you.”

Midnight finally gave up, but I know that he’ll try again. He already has.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Oh, what we put up with for our kitties!! As I type, my left leg is completely numb because somebody (who is REALLY heavy) is in the mood for cuddling. Can't miss that!! 🙂 He is very cute, Chuck. I like his white patch on his belly.

  2. Grampy, Nor do I doubt that.

Sharkbytes, We use a squirt bottle with a firm "NO" to discipline and train. He now plays with the control rod, but not the slats.

    Pricilla, Love bears all . . .

  3. O Boy- Our V8 really wrecked all of those kinds of blinds we have. She eventually bent the slats.
