The other day, I was walking down the driveway on my way to the mailbox. As usual, my eyes were searching for anything different or unusual. That’s when I saw it there in the driveway.
Some egg thief seems to have enjoyed a meal. You can see small puncture marks on the left end of this egg shell. Do you think it was another bird? Or perhaps a mammal?
Fortunately, that is not a green egg. :laff:
I think that we are looking at the beauty of nature and then we are looking at the wildness of nature…sometimes very sad !!
The beauty and the wildness of creation display the wisdom of their creator.
A beautiful egg shell, a not happy story.
It happens everyday.
True. :rain:
those are very sharp little puncture marks. Raccoon is likely, although it could be a snake.
That’s what I was thinking. Thanks for the comment. :tiphat:
The circle of life def. has its unpleasant moments.
It hurts to be tender hearted.
That really is a shame. Maybe it was a squirrel that did it.
Do squirrels do that? I was thinking raccoon.
Oh, baby bird season. NOT my favorite season–there is just too much death.
We found two “non-swimmers” in the pond today…no doubt little ones who were just learning not to go too close to the water. The frogs just wait for the naive birdies. 🙁
The egg is beautiful…I’m sorry its inhabitant didn’t make it. But…mother nature is brilliant as she makes sure there are lots and lots of eggs to increase the odds of survival.
An empty egg and a full belly. Sadness on the one hand and survival on the other.
