Sunday in Proverbs

Proverbs 6

16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:

17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,

18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,

19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers

  1. Justine,
War and national defense play a large part in Old Testament narrative. King David, the man after God's own heart, was a man of war and not allowed to build the temple because his hands had shed blood.

Jesus taught non-violence. For that reason, Christians are divided on the questions, "Is war morally correct?" "Can it ever be justified?"

    Mike,
    Thanks.

  2. I have a question. Hands that shed innocent blood. Does that mean God is okay with war and defending your country? If so, how do we know?

    Justine 😮 )
