Thinking of Briana

Internship - Day One

Internship – Day One

I’m thinking of our granddaughter today.  This is day two of her summer internship.  Only six months to graduation and the BSN degree.

We’re button-popping proud of our gal.  She looks like a twelve-hour shift takes its toll.

I’m just glad I don’t have to do that.

  1. Hi Chuck- I am getting back to blog reading but not sure I’ve I’ll get completely caught up on all I missed. Hope nothing earth shattering happened. Looks like B hasn’t lost her sense of humor. So grown up!

    • You’ve been busy, and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts about your latest venture. I think that sense of humor is deeply rooted in her DNA. At least that’s my theory, but I could be wrong.

  2. WOW! Look at her GO!!! I can’t believe her college years have flown by so quickly. Wasn’t it just yesterday she was graduating from high school?

I have nurse friends and I think the 12 hour shifts are so that you can get continuity in care for your patients for a longer period of time. I think the standard 8 hour shift doesn’t allow for that. I have friends who are neonatal nurses and that longer shift really helps them see the results in changing treatment or medication.

She chose a great field to study. I’m sure she will find employment in her field in no time at all!

    • Yes, that time flies–as you know from Colin’s experience. I guess that makes sense about the long shifts. 🙂

  3. 12 hour days do take a toll, but they are the standard in the health care industry. Praying blessings for Briana.

  4. She’s pretty awesome! Pretty and awesome. And she has a great sense of humor. I was looking at the picture and wondering what was wrong with her lower lip. I’m a bit slow, I guess. She’s sticking out her tongue! :haha:

  5. You have every right to be proud of your beautiful granddaughter! She looks really young to be getting her BSN.

    • Thanks, Verla. University grads do seem to get younger every year. She has taken no short cuts, and most of her [same age] friends have graduated recently. Briana will return this fall for one more semester of study.
