Goodbye Summer

It over.  Gone.  We’re going to miss it.

Still hanging on

Still hanging on

I’m talking about summer.  I think it was here on a Thursday this year.  The visit was so brief.  We searched for summer and found cold and rain.  I hope it doesn’t do that again.  How ’bout you?

The roses are still with us, but they are obviously headed for the exit.

I’d like to take a lesson from the bear.  Gorge myself with food.  Put on rolls of fat.  Take a long nap.  Wake up in the spring.  Yes, that sounds like a good plan.  What do you think of that? ❓

  1. No, don’t like that plan. Your slimmer self looked very good. And besides, I might get to come your way some time over the winter months, and if you were asleep, I’d miss you!

    • But I would be slimmer by spring. But if it means missing out on a visit from the Shark, I’m not going to do it. The latch string is out.

  2. We’d miss WAY too much if we hibernated for a whole season. Although…no driving in snow and ice does sound mighty inviting!

    • When your children and grandchildren are adults, you may have a different view. For my part, I like the idea of a huge Thanksgiving feast followed by a four-month “snooze.” Yes, I do. :cloud9:
