Superheroes

Yesterday, our good friend, Vanilla, features “People Watching” on his blog.  In particular, he reported seeing Superman at their local supermarket.

That post got me thinking about my favorite superhero, Batman.

No, I have not seen the Batman in our part of the world.  But it did set me to thinking about an experience that James from Fremont, Nebraska reported.

James was at work when he overheard a heated conversation between two other employees.  They were arguing over who was the greatest superhero, Superman or Batman.  Temperatures were rising when the Batman fan said, “Of course, Batman would win.  Batman is real and Superman isn’t!”

James shook his head and walked away.  He carried with him a memory he’ll never forget.

  1. My son just received comic books from my (grown) nephew. It was a big deal for the latter to pass them on and a a big deal for my son to receive them. Yesterday he declared Superman was his new favorite comic book hero. Except he said, x-ray vision. He thinks that’s invasive, lolol!! He’s not wrong. 😉 Happy hi’s to you and Sylvia!

    • And the same to you, Rosey.
I don’t remember where or how I acquired my foot-high stack of comic books. Perhaps it was an uncle or cousin that outgrew them. Several of kids were in and “Exchange.” We’d get together one on one with a stack of comic books we were willing to swap. It was a one-for-one arrangement and it worked well.

  2. Reminds me of when my two co-workers would debate, at length, over all the superheros. They would pick two and compare who is better/worse. And they were serious. Made my head want to explode.

  3. Thanks for the nod, and thanks for thinking about and sharing your thoughts on Superheroes. How interesting that you have chosen the same “favorite” I picked. My reasoning is this: Batman possesses no superpowers but chooses to combat evil with his wits and his wealth. Good man.

    I like the “reality” check.

And I have a good friend who is the real Batman. Rev. Ernest Batman was my pastor some years back. He was my father’s best friend in his late years. This Batman is a true servant of God and a true hero in my book.
