This is a story about Sylvia. She came in the house to take a break. It was obvious she had been working outside. She just said, “Take a look at the aisle of trees.” So while she got comfortable in the recliner with a glass of cool water and a book, I went out on the deck to see. It was obvious where she had been working.
There were the day lilies and the snow on the mountain ivy. Looking great!
And to the right was the area that wasn’t done yet. With the weeds and sucker shoots growing up from the stumps of ash trees. The latter can be seen as three clumps on the right. This area had been a double row of ash trees that we called “the aisle of trees.” The trees were infected and dying from the work of the emerald ash borer. I’ll tell you more about that another day.
Here’s a wider shot of the area. After the wettest June on record, and more rain in July, we have the greenest grass we have seen at mid July–ever. Wait until I show you a shot of the neighbor’s corn . . . But that too is a story for another day. I’m going to go fill my water glass and check on the cat. It that rascal is taking a nap, I think I’ll follow his example. I’m tired just thinking about all that work that Sylvia did. How about you?
I think I know how she feels!
Congratulations, Sylvia! It really looks great.
Looks great! Can I borrow Sylvia? 😀
She is a trooper! But it's nice to see the results.
Oh, yeah, that Sylvia just wears you out. And makes us all tired just thinking about the work involved.
Bring that Sylvia over here!
Wow, your lawn looks like mine! How lovely all that green is. Problem is that it keeps growing when it is so green. Ugh.
