I told you earlier that Tuesday was a busy day. I had to drink my coffee quickly that morning so that we could get to church in time to catch the bus.
We boarded the bus you see above. It took nearly an hour to arrive at our destination on the west side of Lansing, Michigan.
Sylvia sprinted out front to capture this image of our group coming off the bus.
Then she took this shot of me beside the Michigan Princess as it sits at its dock on the Grand River.
A few minutes later and we were going on board this three-deck paddle boat.
We gathered in the main deck dining room. As soon as we were underway, lunch was served.
The Bayou River Band played for our entertainment. Later, they visited each table asking for requests. It was a lot of fun. Our friend Bonnie requested When the Saints Come Marching In. She also added, “And as we say, give it some stuff!” They did.
After lunch, we went up to the top deck to see the sights and enjoy the glorious weather. It was a very nice outing. (We have more trips coming up this summer. I’m particularly looking forward to visiting the Amish community.)
All too soon, the river cruise was over and we left the Michigan Princess, boarded our bus and returned home. We were a bit tired and very happy.
looks like you had a great time- i like those kinds of cruises
This is the kind of boat ride I like. I got to ride this one once a long time ago, and it was a very enjoyable experience.
Lovely. The publicist and male person went on a paddleboat when they were in St. Louis. They had a wonderful time
What a great way to spend a summer day! Well, maybe except for the bus ride part?
sounds like a blast! the pictures are wonderful. i love being on the water. have a great day!
