About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

    • Very pretty indeed. Yes, they did seem to be fleeting. The recent rains appear to have washed those colors away. 🙁

  1. Very pretty. The larch are turning here giving us a bit of yellow to our scenery. But that’s all we get.

    • It certainly is pretty around here this time of year. Come January and February, I’ll probably find myself thinking that I like palm trees better. And I know that you know what I mean. Right? 😀

  2. Well, that leaf has about three shades of color in it, doesn’t it? Totally jealous of your yard! Ours is a mess with leaves (and we’ve cleaned them up once). 🙂

    • I love living on the hill. We get enough breeze here to clear most of the leaves. In our previous home, we had to spend hours and hours each fall clearing deep piles of leaves from the lawn. :surrender Fortunately, the lawn was much smaller at that location.

  3. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet, the crisp cool air…love it all!

    • I understand. Late summer and early fall is my favorite time for the same reasons that you quote. 😀 But once the air becomes chill and the rain starts, the fun is over. 🙁
