I’ve been watching that wasp nest and hoping that this would happen:
We use to see this happen when we lived in Connecticut. I believe it is a bird that pulled the raid. However, I did not witness it happen.
Does anyone have an idea on how this happened? Please?
Not sure here, but definitely a brave one who did it. Braver than I, that’s for sure. :surrender:
Braver than me too. :beam:
Hmmmm….that’s weird. Raccoon maybe? What else would get up there?
When you spray these guys, they say to do it at night when they are all in there and less active. I’m guessing it was easier to do a sneak attack at night. Whoever did it, knew that. That’s why I am guessing raccoon–they do their best work at night. I know this by experience.
It’s possible we have a lot of them in the neighborhood. My chicken-raising neighbor reports shooting 15 of them this year and that was a few weeks ago. :surrender:
Chuck, here is a link to an interesting article. The paragraph under “Other Predators” might provide a clue. http://animals.pawnation.com/natural-predators-wasps-7754.html :surrender:
Thanks, Vanilla. That’s an interesting article. I’ve seen skunk sign on the lawn. 👿 They dig up the sod to get at insects. :food:
Not me! I never saw anything bother those nests.
I was hoping that you would know. At least you now know that it can happen. Hit with a storm here. Pea-size hail fell for a half hour and with it came 4.5 inches of rain in a little over an hour. Unfortunately, some of that ended up in our [usually] dry basement. :badmood:
Maybe it was the storm itself. Might have had a weak seam and the wind took it down.
It was no storm and no wind that took that nest down. The nest was down on Wednesday and the storm hit today (Friday).
really a mystery. I didn’t know anything would mess with them.
