Best Laid Plans

The best laid plans of mice and men gang aft agley. — Robert Burns

Only Midnight had a lazy day on Monday.  Mine was a different story for  the last few days

  • Saturday morning work day at church
  • Till two gardens after lunch
  • Pick up brush and load fire wood
  • Discover part of Thursday’s temporary crown in the granola I’m eating
  • Remove the other half of the (plastic) crown
  • NASCAR race rained out
  • Finished Power Point presentation for Sunday message
  • Copy presentation and videos to lap top computer
  • Enjoy a good night’s rest
  • Sunday morning the video connection from the platform doesn’t work
  • (Frank finds problems after the service)
  • Lap top at sound board to provide video and audio feeds
  • I look back over my shoulder at the screen — a lot as I deliver the message
  • Lunch with friends, Larry & Carmen – great food and conversation
  • Home to the recliner.  Ahhh
  • NASCAR race rained out
  • Great evening service
  • Monday morning call dentist office
  • At the office, dental tech, Jan (a friend and neighbor) replaces the broken plastic crown with a temporary metal crown.  She is efficient as she expertly does her work while carrying on a conversation about life in our neighborhood.  (Her mom was the original owner of the house where Sylvia and I live.)
  • Remove tiller and front-end loader from tractor
  • Mount mower
  • Mow lawn until the tractor is low on diesel fuel
  • Watch two previously rained out NASCAR races on DVR
  • Install two signs for a church event
  • Another good night’s rest
  • Write this post
  • Prepare to finish mowing

Another battle in the pool this evening as the East Kentwood Falcons take on the Rockford Rams in water polo.  Sylvia and I plan to be there.  But now there are some blogs I want to visit.  Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. LOL! Looks like a busy day for you!
The lunchtime was the best of all I guessed?

  2. Wish I had been there for your week in the pulpit! Everything else sounds good except the dentist and NASCAR

  3. That is an exhausting list!

Teeth issues always give me a little shudder. I've been told I need to see a periodontist soon and I am not looking forward to that visit at all.

    A Lot of Loves

  4. We know spring has really sprung when Senor Hutchinson is back in his happy place – on the mower!
