Doctor Says . . .

When the doctor speaks, I listen.

Yesterday I met with Dr Rodriguez. (That’s not him in the photo.)  I was eager to hear results of the PSA test 6 weeks after surgery.  He said the results were, “perfect.”  The count was zero, and that’s what we had hoped for.  It’s too early to say “cured,” but it is looking good–very good.

He asked about recovery with specific questions.  After I had answered these, he said I was progressing better than average.  That was also a good thing to hear.  At times it seems to be going very slowly to me.

Power Outage

We lost power Sunday evening during the big storm that raged through this region on our nation.  Shortly after, the emergency generator started and switched itself into action.

The power company at first estimated restoration by Thursday.  Next it was Saturday.  This morning they are saying Friday.  At least I’m warm and only the clocks are off.  (The generator runs just a bit fast.)

Had the neighbors in last night.  We enjoyed a nice visit and one enjoyed a good hot shower.  They also left a dozen eggs.

About Chuck

  1. While those around me are thankful I showered, I am most thankful for you keeping our critters watered. Thank you for your kindness!

    • You are most welcome. :hkitty:

They say we should get our commercial power back tonight. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. 😎

  2. HOORAY!! Boy, that is happy news!!

Glad you have a generator. Living without power is NOT fun…for any amount of time. We have a generator for the refrigerator and one or two other things–like a lamp, but that is it. We are campers–we have battery-operated lights and such, but living without power in your everyday life is horrible.

Hope it comes on soon for you and your neighbors! Glad you are safe after those storms.

    • I bought a generator big enough to power the entire house and its systems. They predict power on by tomorrow night. However, we are the largest area (51 – 200 subscribers) without power in this part of the state. I’m hoping for today. 🙂

  3. That’s awesome that you have an emergency generator that kicks in when you need it too. I didn’t know you could do that!

We used to lose power three or four times a year. For Christmas three years ago, I got hubby a pretty expensive generator. The power hasn’t gone out since. Knock on wood. We went to the library today and the librarian said her power’s still out. Lots of people are still without. 🙁

Your news from the Dr. is ‘I don’t need no rocking chair’ dance worthy!!! Big congrats to you! :hkitty: :yea:

    • We went about three years without a power outage after our generator was first installed. :cloud9:

My feet are already shuffling and I hear George Jones belting it out.

  4. PTL!!! Great PSA test. So glad for you. Also great you have the generator. We didn’t lose power, but did lose a tree. It landed on the deck rail and the gutter helmet. The tree was cleared away on Monday and a temp fix on the top rail of the deck which was broken into two pieces. They’ll be back for a permanent fix of the deck and to fix the gutter helmet. Looks like the edge of the roof sheathing might have been weakened. Otherwise, the roof is OK. We are so blessed that the damage was so little.

  5. Hi Chuck! Great to hear that things are going well. Glad you did not have a big problem with the Sunday storm. Our son Paul and family were coming out of church when it hit just east of Peoria, just south of Washington. They all headed back into church while it passed. He was lucky, only lost power until midnight Sunday. Both Karen and Paul had friends that completely lost homes in Washington.

    • A power outage is not a problem when you have a generator like ours. Sorry to hear about Karen Paul’s friends. We had nothing that bad here.

    • It was the news we were hoping for. With the power still out I’m very glad about the generator. The Consumer’s Energy power outage map shows this area (51-200 subscribers) to be one of the largest in the area without power at this time. :beam:

  6. Dios ge bendiga Chuck.

:yea:

  7. Your boy scout training equipped you well. Good for the generator. And even better for the prognosis!
(That dr in the pic is one scary looking dude.)

    • I’m very glad to have that generator–and a couple of friends who helped get it from the delivery truck to the barn and then wired into the system.

Mr T always looks scary. :surrender:
