Family Time

Last weekend, my three sisters were here so that we could spend some time together.  It was a great time.  And we ate well.  My sisters are all good cooks and Sylvia is, in my opinion, the best.

That clean-shaven look has resulted in more than a few comments.  I don’t miss the facial hair as much as I thought I might.

In the photo, we are standing in the family room under the sky light.  That was a really bad idea.  Only later did I realize how bad.  I had to reduce contrast quite a bit to salvage the image, which resulted in this washed-out look.

We didn’t always look like this.  There was a time when we were younger, and it seems like only yesterday.  Come to think of it, we were younger only yesterday.  Compare the above photo with this.

It sure is nice to have a family get together!  I only wish we could do it more often.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. What an awesome picture. In Om’s family, his baby sister died 4 years ago, so we can’t even do something like that. Um, I’m not sure I would recognize you… I’m terrible with faces, and that’s a significant change. I’ll have to work on the new look.

    • I’ve noticed that most of the gals from high school are easily recognizable. The guys, are mostly changed — some of us a lot. :beam:

  2. Makes me want to see my own family now. I haven’t seen most of them for awhile now since I live so far away.

    • That does make it difficult. We’re glad to be back where we can see family from time-to-time. (For 19 years we lived on the east coast.)

  3. Well Maggie was the baby and she looks like she’s the tallest of the three girls now. 🙂

I love BOTH pictures. Nothing is better than family visits.

Nice shout-out to Sylvia for being such a good cook…were you hungry when you did that???? :ha:

    • Maggie and Clara are standing on the hearth which is a brick width higher than the floor. 🙂 You are right. Nothing beats time with family.

Sylvia says, “Hey.” I think we had already eaten. Hence the smiles. 8)

      • Sending a ‘hey’ back to Sylvia. 🙂

I think I see Danger Mouse in an avatar up there (Ratty). I have to go investigate (my son’s favorite book series!).
