My Bride & Her Mother

Flashback Friday is hosted by Camille.  (Click on the badge to visit her blog, which is the home of Flashback Friday.)  Won’t you consider joining in the fun?

Many years would pass before the cute little blond-haired girl would walk down the aisle and take my hand.  I love this pic of Sylvia and her mom taken in the 40s.

Sylvia has always loved the water.  This picture was taken in Glen Lake in front of her great grandfather’s cottage.  It’s a beautiful place.

We spent our honeymoon at that cottage.  It was horrible hot there back then.  We returned 50 years later and the weather was crazy cold. Ho boy!

    • The picture is kind of fuzzy–just like my memory. Of course I didn’t know Sylvia back then. I met her when she was [in her own words] “almost 15 going on 16.”

  1. That’s a cute picture, aww look at her!! I loved swimming when I was a kid. These days I only like it in a chlorine pool (but I don’t think it’s politically/environmentally correct to admit that out loud). That being said, I take the kids to the lake all of the time because they love it. 🙂

    • Kids will be kids. Lake beats the pool anytime. Anytime you don’t get a case of water itch from the lake, that is. 🙄

  2. That is totally cool. Kinda reminds me of many of my picks when I was little & my Dad would take us up to Fox River at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles, IL. That was the only vacation we ever got to take was weekends up there. Thanks for sharing and triggering some old memories for me. Have a wonderful weekend! 8)

    • You are most welcome. I’m glad that the image triggered good memories for you too. And a wonderful weekend to you and yours. 😀
