Did you have the traditional turkey dinner for Thanksgiving? That didn’t happen here. My two sisters who were here and I have a food allergy and are not able to eat turkey without suffering terrible headaches. This year we had a ham. It was delicious. Best of all, this morning Sylvia put the ham bone in a pot and dumped in the liquid and spit peas. One of my favorite meals is coming up.
Last Thursday in addition to the two sisters and a brother-in-law, Briana and her parents were here to celebrate the day. What could be better than that?
In addition to good food and friendly conversation we played table games and enjoyed being together. To me that’s the best part–being with the ones you love.
Although we set aside one Thursday in November to express our thanks and gratitude for all the good we have received, it is good to give thanks each day for what we have.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Not everyone has the same traditions, so a traditional meal is whatever YOUR tradition is. It’s a good thing you and I don’t try to have a Thanksgiving meal together, as I am allergic to ham. 🙂 It is good you got to be with family.
Looks like some nice times with family! Briana is really grown up!
It was a super good day. Briana is 21 now. It’s a bit hard to believe, as it seems like only the other day . . . :whaa:
Great pictures! I’m glad you had a happy day, and I agree, every day is a great day to give thanks (and we should). 🙂 :hkitty:
Thanks Rosey. We do have much to be thankful for.
Aw, sounds like you had a nice day. I love to play games with the family–we held our annual $100,000 Pyramid Tournament. That’s always good for a laugh….and a battle or two. 😉
Can’t believe Briana is going to graduate soon!!
I read about that tourney on your blog. Sounds kinda whacky, and that means tons o’ fun.
She may be a senior, but graduation is still a full year away. It usually takes a couple of extra semesters to complete the requirements. :stars:
Leaving aside the urge to ask how you got Sylvia to spit peas, I am grateful with you that you have much to be thankful for!
Thanks, ’cause I don’t want to explain that. It is good to give thanks.
