Yesterday, was not very nice and I let it show in the poem that I posted. Today was a different story. Sunny and nice if on the cool side. It was a great day for outside work and that’s what Sylvia and I did after lunch.
The garden is ready for winter. No, that garden is not freshly tilled. It has been covered in a thick layer of well composted manure. We have the most generous and well behaved neighbors and their two legged care givers are generous too.
With some help from the good Lord and cooperation from the weather, we are looking forward to a good harvest next year in the garden. I’m hoping that the jalapeños do well. This year we didn’t get any. Our parsnips also failed. (I think that was heavy spring rain.)
Two people are going to sleep very well tonight. At least, that’s what I believe. 🙂
LOVE your neighbors. They are most generous in their giving–both in everyday support and their animal poop. We have poop–but not the good, help-your-garden sort.
Nice that the weather is holding out lately to get the outside chores done. Joe is heading out today to decorate the house with Christmas lights. I think he wishes for the horrible weather so he didn’t have to. 🙂
They are wonderful friends as well as neighbors.
It should be a good day for Joe if you weather is like ours today.
I may not be a good neighbour because I do not have any two legged care giver.
Rainfield, that is a sad situation. I’m sorry. :rain:
You two, with help from the neighbor’s product, are outstanding gardeners!
Perhaps the moral of this story is that the secret to good gardens is having good neighbors.
I never get all the outside stuff done, but some years, more than others. Pretty good this year, with some hope for more given the weather forecast. 🙂
Know what you mean. We missed applying compost last year. :dunce: The year before I didn’t mark the driveway for snow removal–won’t do that again. :dunce: At least we got those both done this year. :cloud9:
You’ve done well this year too. That despite the broken mower.
