Spring Comes Early?

Late last week, it seemed as though spring had come early to west Michigan. We had a couple of days of warmer temperatures and with it came very heavy rain. We even had a thunderstorm. As I sat in my recliner listening to the rain on the roof and the thunder crashes, I wrote this haiku in my notebook:

Thunderstorm

See the startling flash,
Feel the heart stopping thunder,
In the raging rain.

Spring is coming and it’s not very far away.

  1. Good work, Chuck! I’m glad you didn’t have to write that hunkered down in the basement by candlelight! Those Winter/Spring storms can get really scary!! We had tons of rain here too.

  2. Short, but beautiful. I LOVE thunder and lightning. Good thing too, ’cause when we get a storm here in FL we get a STORM.
You don’t get any weird weather phenomena up in your parts, do you? I mean aside from blizzards. No tornadoes, that kind of stuff?

    Justine 😮 )

  3. Nice Haiku. You’re so talented Chuck……….is there anything that you can’t do?
You’re such a gifted and inspiring writer 🙂

    Steady On
