Sunday School ~ Romans 15a

The theme for the fist portion of Romans 15 is Unity. A goal that we should seek today. Paul puts it this way:

1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. 3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, โ€œThe reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.โ€ 4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
(New King James Version)

Perhaps we should ask ourselves if we are part of the solution or part of the problem.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Too bad so many people today are more concerned about themselves and not about their ‘neighbors’.
    God bless!

  2. I tend to be on the selfish side at times, so this was a good thing for me to read.

Madison is making her first holy communion today and she’s nervous. Say a little prayer for her?

  3. If we could all be pleasing to our neighbors we could all make a difference couldn’t we Chuck? Especially in the way that if we lead a life that was a true example that our Father shone through and they wondered and sought the peace we carry through our God’s mercy.
As always, a wonderful post ๐Ÿ™‚
(by the way…..this Friday’s Shoot-Out is gardens. Come on Chuck, now I know there are gardens out in the country with you…….think about it won’t you?).
