Sunday School ~ Zephaniah

After the death of Isaiah, the kingdom of Judah would fall to the Babylonians in less than a century. During this time, a series of prophets spoke to the people and their leaders. They warned of the consequences that followed from the practice of violence and injustice. They also spoke of God’s promises to those who remained faithful and true. Zephaniah was one of these.

The verse for today is:

“The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”

— Zephaniah 3:17

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. I’ve always loved the thought of God singing over me. It makes me feel very secure, like a child in the arms of its mother, as she softly sings to comfort her child.

  2. What a beautiful and comforting verse that is, Chuck. I’ve never sat and read the bible, but I feel like I have such a strong connection with God.
I was raised Catholic but in recent years have shied away from the religions. Too many man-written doctrines for my liking, and some that I just don’t agree with.
Maybe one of these days I’ll seek a church to go to, but then again, maybe not.

I love the way you praise our Lord in your blog and in your posts….
It restores my faith in humanity, which is sometimes shaky at best…
