About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. Vanilla, Sylvia began her art studies when she was a teen. In retirement she has time to pursue that interest with greater intensity. I agree that she has an wonderful ability.

Pricilla, The egrets pictures were done for her sister who lives in Florida.

  2. Thank you all for your comments. These are the first paintings I have done in over 30 years. I really enjoy the challenge of painting (mostly from photos)because life moves too fast for me to paint in "real time"–especially sunsets and waves on the water. Sylvia

  3. Sylvia has chosen an avocation at which she is very good. My late m-i-l took up painting at age 65 and pursued her muse for 29 years. Lots of paintings: friends, family and even in some public institutions. However, this isn't about us. It's Sylvia's turn. Really like the use of whites in her paintings. The girl on the walk is quite striking.

  4. Lin, She certainly is. Thanks.

Bug, I've always liked that picture too.

Justine, We have an eclectic collection of images hanging in our house. She has not gone commercial.

    Rita, Thanks.

    Grace, I certainly agree.

    Sharkbytes, She enjoys her projects.

FishHawk, They certainly are good. I'm not sure why. She says she loves me, and I'll settle for that.

Rebecca, Sylvia is my wife of 48 years. Sharbytes is a blogger friend that lives on the west side of Michigan as we do. Sharbytes lives about 100 miles north of us.

  5. Wow, she has got soooooooo much talent. Do you have her stuff hanging all over the house? Does she ever sell what she paints?

    Justien 😮 )

  6. Oh, these are lovely. The woman following a path tells such a story on it's own. Wonderful.
