You know the expression . . . As summer transitions into autumn, the bees are busy. This time of year, you’ll find them on the seedum.
The are harvesting those last loads nectar before the season ends.
No time to play. Must seize the day. Carpe diem.
Meanwhile, out at the barn. Another creature is looking for a different kind of meal.
This is the largest mantis that I have seen. I frequently find these on the seedum, but not this day.
Such nice pictures of the bees and the praying mantis…Have seen lots of bees in my lifetime, but these look especially nice on the flowers. Am always thrilled to see a praying mantis , but don’t see them very often!
I’ve learned where to look in September to see the mantis. When it gets a bit cool, look in the warm sunny places.
I like the praying mantis. I’ve seen two in my life, but not for a long time.
Here in west Michigan, I see them every fall. They must be around more than that, but I don’t know where to look.
