Sylvia had reported a problem with a dresser drawer. It wouldn’t close all the way. She called me to come and then demonstrated the problem. As the resident handyman, I got right to work. I removed the drawer and immediately saw the problem. The repair would require a screw and a screwdriver. I sat the drawer on the bed and went to the basement workshop to retrieve the parts.
I returned just in time to see Midnight poised on the floor and studying the opening left by the missing drawer. As I watched, He lower his tail and rose tall on his front paws. This posture means he’s lining up for a leap. And leap he did–right into the opening. Amazing!

“Hey, I want to get to the other side.” |
Once he had leaped into the dresser, he decided he wanted to be on the other side. Isn’t that just like a cat? The center support track was to high for him to step over. No problem.
 |
“Too high? I’ll go under.” |
Too high to step over, but not too low to go under. Midnight easily slid under the support track and reached the other side.
 |
“Purrfect!” |
Soon he was enjoying the view from high in the dresser. Explorers like to do things like that. And with an intrepid explorer like Midnight, there is never a shortage of drama around the house.

Sylvia saw this cartoon in the latest Reader’s Digest. I thought you might enjoy it too. Especially, if you have a feline or felines in your house.

Kitty does make a good point. Why do we put temptation in kitty’s path? Or do you do that?
