Sorry if the title made you think about cake. Didn’t the gals used to call it “frosting” when they put white highlights in their hair? If so, I’m not talking about that either. I’m talking about hoarfrost or rime.
I was late waking up on Saturday and the bright sun was making short work of the ice crystal magic. On Sunday, rime on the trees was very heavy, but I was not able to get a picture of that.
Life works that way some times. It reminds me of the story of the couple that was touring in Europe. They came to an ancient church. The sign said, “This building dedicated to the glory of God — 1130. She turned to him and said, “Oh honey, pity we weren’t here twenty minutes earlier.”
It was 70 degrees here yesterday….no “frosting” or ice crystals to be seen, thank goodness. I thought of you as I took photos of the snowdrops blooming out front.
It was warm here too, not 70 but I still walked outside with slacks and a tee shirt. (But then, I am a Michiganian.) Most of our snow has left again. I always get a serious case of envy when you post pix of your beautiful snowdrops. But post them, ’cause I enjoy them–a lot.
I’ll still take frosting on my cake. Guess the girls “highlight” these days rather than “frost.” Yet, on an unrelated note, some things do indeed “frost” me.
I prefer cake without frosting, so you can have mine too. I can’t keep up with female fashion. Nor am I concerned about that. As to your final comment–I understand and share your experience.
Nice pic! I like the story about the dedication. Was she a blond?
Of course she is, if you want her to be. Imagination is nice that way. You can modify the scene to fit your own fancy.
