Midnight Monday ~ My Blogger Buddy

Sometimes a body needs a consultant. That someone who will provide insight for blog content, style, words and photos. All must all be woven together into a tapestry that is functional and beautiful. I have such a consultant, his name is, Midnight.

That’s right. Midnight loves to stretch out on the computer desk between the keyboard and the monitor while I am blogging. He’ll lay there for a while and then he’ll sit up and put his nose to the monitor. If there is motion on the screen, he’ll watch it intently. He may even try to catch it with a paw.

Feline indifference must be maintained at all costs. When the camera comes out you straighten up, but never make eye contact. Peripheral vision is good enough. A cat must maintain his dignity.

So today’s question is, Is my cat going to be bald? Is he worried and is he just pulling out his hair? Is this normal? Is it right? Is it thin fur and light skin underneath?

Yesterday after church we had friends over to watch the Daytona 500. There was about 2 and a half hours of delay during the race while they did track repairs. The race ran much longer than we expected, but made up for it with a spectacular finish. Well, you know that will happen at Daytona.

Sure is nice to see the sun coming up earlier each day. February is half gone. Spring can’t be too far away. Can it? I sure hope not.

  1. Ida, I keep hearing that thin hair story, and I do believe.

Mrs M, They can be so much fun. I'd rather have a few nose prints than to have no kitty at all.

  2. My kitty likes to put her nose up against the monitor, too. I guess it is because the screen is warm. But my monitor has all these ickky little nose prints all over it. :S

All cats have thin fur by their ears, I think.

  3. Lin, Thanks Pricilla and you have made feel a lot better about my thin-haired kitty. He's a lot more fun lately. He used to swat with extended claws at keyboard and mouse. Fortunately, I've broken him of that bad habit — the squirt bottle helped a lot. Right now he's crawled over the speakers and is playing behind the monitor.

  4. Pricilla is right–the fur right before their ears is always thin–it just shows more on black and/or dark kitties. No worries–he is still adorable!

And what great help you have there!

  5. Vanilla, He's twisted and you don't see all. Sylvia calls it his bikini. No dignity in that.

    Jo, Yes, he is.

Marg, Meow, purrr. Vet has seen it and no problem.

Shutterbug, Wouldn't that be neat. Wonder what he would say?

Pricilla, You are a wise goat. Thanks for that word of encouragement.

Sharkbytes, As I mentioned earlier, Sylvia calls it his bikini.

Clara, Because I see him everyday, I didn't realize how much he'd grown since your last visit. Then I saw his picture on My Meme Mania and I was shocked. He looks so tiny and that was only a couple of months ago. Reckon will he get as big as Hobbes? No, probably not.

  6. Jillian has the same balding thing in the same place. I think it's normal for some breeds. Then again, Jillian is a nervous kitty.

Midnight sure is getting big! He's more beautiful every week.

  7. He is a mighty consultant warrior. When he can stay awake. I didn't realize that he has a white stripe on his belly.

  8. Every cat I have had has had thin fur right by the ears. With dark furred cats the difference is more striking.

  9. That is a super blog companion. Right down our alley because we all love to sit and watch the computer. I believe I would have a vet look at that bald spot. Have a great day.

  10. Cat Law: Dignity at all costs. (I knew Midnight had a white "bib" but didn't realize he wore a white garter as well!)
