Sylvia has begun to harvest potatoes. Some of them look as pretty as the ones you see in the store. Most of them don’t.
I like these organic, home-grown potatoes better than the pretty ones in the grocery store. Plus, you’ll not find one with its own built-in tripod there.
We have once again cut way back on meat consumption in favor of plant-based nutrition. Okay, I’ll make an exception for bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers.
I don’t have pictures of our poppers. Who wants to take pictures when they come out of the toaster oven? Not me! I want to eat them while they are warm.
Much to our relief, one of the zucchini plants has stopped producing. The other two can follow soon. Please!
It looks like a potato person. 🙂 I wouldn’t want to take popper pictures either… having them warm takes the priority with that one, definitely. :hkitty:
The poppers have been so good at breaking up congestion for me. I like them hot and spicy. :food:
I don’t think I ever ate a potato that came from the store until I went to college. Well, I suppose I must have when not at home, but dad packed them in crates in the basement and we ate them all winter, and we cut off the sprouts and ate them all spring, and then dad planted the ones that were left.
They probably grew a wide variety of plants in their garden. Year before last, we were able to do that–almost. I think we had to buy one small bag of potatoes in the spring. I don’t recall my parents planting potatoes, although they may have a couple of times. Their garden was always very large.
Have seen lots of home grown potatoes in my lifetime, but have never seen one like that!!!!!
For some reason our potatoes tend to have bumps and lumps on them. I think the soil is too heavy.
