The following pix are a week old. I meant to post them earlier this week, but life intervened.
Lots of daffodils and more opening each day.
I love the friendly blossoms on the ground cover. We call it myrtle, but you may know it as vinca or periwinkle.
Meanwhile out in the garden . . .
Rhubarb is greeting the spring. These leaves have been touched with frost. (Remember this is from last week.)
What a happy sight to see the first shoot of giant garlic breaking through. It is a promise of another good year.
Then we come to the end of another beautiful day. Time for a good night’s sleep.
Spring is always THE best time in Michigan. So, so welcome after a season of ice and snow. 🙂
It is great, but autumn is my favorite. I love the warm earth and cool air. Also the brilliant colors of fall foliage and the smell of fresh picked apples. Perhaps it’s my late August birthday that makes me feel that way.
Secondary Roads, the flowers are beautiful, but seeing the rhubarb makes my mouth water. Rhubarb pie is a favorite of mine.
Sylvia’s rhubarb pie is the greatest and definitely my favorite. Yesterday, I saw the first two asparagus shoots to appear this spring.
Oh, it’s a wonderful thing to see the garden coming back to life! I never cease to be excited at the smallest signs of life under the mulch and dirt. We spent the entire day outside in the yard today. It’s my happiest place to be. The work is hard, but honest. And the results are glorious! Yeah, Spring! Yeah, flowers!!
It sure is wonderful indeed.
