I was cropping this image when Sylvia walked into the office. She said that the apple tree looked even better today.
I picked up my camera and went out to find a better shot. As I focused on the tree, an intruder walked into the frame.
You may see her left of center in the bottom part of the image. I inset a closer view in the lower left.
She appears to be on a mission, but that ended at the neighbor’s fence. Perhaps she didn’t want to leap the fence. Perhaps she saw something.
She perked up those big ears. She stared intently. Then, she turned and ran faster than the speedy camera.
She soon had disappeared into some tall brush. Moral of the story: Sometimes it’s better when things don’t go according to plan.
It never gets old seeing deer. They delight me. We came home late one night a long time ago and two were asleep in our driveway. They stood up and waited in our yard to see what was going on. We opened the car door and of course they ran off. 🙂
Your tree does look lovely!
They are frequent visitors around our house. We have a few acres that provide cover for them.
Wow! Look at that tree! Oh, I wish they would stay in bloom longer, don’t you? My redbud is already leafing out.
Love how you captured the doe in the shot.
The blooms are great and it would be super to see them longer–especially the cherry trees. Photo bombing doe was pure serendipity. Couldn’t have planned something as neat as that.
Great picture of your home and apple tree! And the intruder adds a little action !
She certainly became the main attraction.
After she left, did you retake the tree, or did her intrusion make the original a keeper?
No need to “retake the tree.” When she appeared, she stole the story. I like it like that.
Beautiful tree (and the little photo bomber is cute).
Thanks. It was a great feeling to watch this short story in action.
She certainly seems focused on something
That she does, but I’m not sure what it was.
